i've done a similar method where instead you try to use unregistered ones (helps if you have someone that works somewhere where they can get xbox gift cards but not register them) and then contact support and tell them that it didn't work.

Go on Letgo / Facebook Marketplace / Offer Up and search for Xbox gift cards that have a picture of the back of the card that displays the serial at the bottom of the card / I would look for listings posted about 2-4 days ago so you know its not sold or used. Open a Xbox live support chat saying that you scratched the code to the point where it is unreadable on accident. Don't directly copy but follow and use my tips below
