What I don't understand, is : Given my quick reaction to reply to you, Why didn't you try to elaborate on what was happening?

I'm not ubiquitous or omniscient, I had no idea what was the message about at the time, and 1 more message would have confirmed my saying immediately and prevented this situation to happen to you.

Why does it seem silly to you? Do you think I spend 24/7 on this forum, and that the first thing that happened in my mind when I changed my #, which is totally irrelevant in my life is : "I need to update it, on very specific boxes Profile over Nulled " ?. I did update it, on my threads that I do business on, and on my guide in my signature. I didn't even remember there was a way to display my discord name.

You have a clear bias, which is to think that I could have foreknown this situation would have happened, when I bought a nitro upgrade and updated my name. I don't blame you to think this way, but it shows you have little to no capability of empathy, meaning being able to put yourself in my shoes.

So if I follow your logic, you should have known better, and should have reached out to me. You are to blame here as well. Why shouldn't you be held accountable since you didn't reply to my enquiry about someone impersonating me? This could have led to me finding out about this dude way earlier and possible spared @GTBenja his 100€.

And I can't be held accountable for people's recklessness and lack of judgement.

I also want to end this by saying that someone, is having a good laugh at me justifying for his scam and at @GTBenja cause he fooled him.

@Lucas can you close please and remove @PyCord neg rep?

It is actually true that you are partially responsible for this. If you just changed your discord after 1 month of having a new name and somebody took advantage of it, it was still your discord shown in your profile. Same would happen if it were my discord, and I forgot to change it on my profile. You may not be active but you replied to him, instantly, so you were not away, offline, busy... or anything else that would make it impossible for you to change your discord from your profile to the new one.

Being careless when it comes to your contact information can get others scammed.

Anything posted on your account, as per the rules, is your responsibility. That includes your contact information or contact information you no longer own. It is assumed that the contact information displayed in your profile is your most updated piece of information and that, if checked and confirmed that there are no special characters added to it, it's still owned by you (because nobody can have the same exact discord name as you, while you still own it)

That makes you liable to refund or compensate OP and whoever got scammed, for 50% of the amount they lost.

Thank you for sharing your thoughts on the matter. However, I respectfully disagree with your assessment of my responsibility in this situation.

Firstly, I would like to clarify that I changed my Discord name displayed over Nulled in response to the impersonation attempts, not after a month of having a new name. Secondly, while it is true that my old Discord name was still displayed on my profile at the time of the incident, I had previously warned others to verify my identity before conducting any transactions with me, earlier in the afternoon.

I understand that you are looking for someone to hold responsible for the scam. As I have explained before, I have taken steps to prevent impersonation attempts, and I have always been willing to verify my identity to those who ask. However, I cannot control the actions of others who choose to scam people and deceive them.

It is important to note that the scammer in this case was very sophisticated and had gone to great lengths to impersonate me.

I do understand your point about being careful with contact information, but I do not believe that I should be held liable for the actions of a scammer who deliberately deceived users.. As I stated earlier, I have taken steps to prevent impersonation attempts, such as adding two-factor authentication to my account and warning others to verify my identity.
I’ve communicated with the mods team as soon as this occurred, to not let this get through.

Furthermore, the person who scammed you had taken advantage of the situation and used the contact information that was displayed in my profile.

To emphasize : there is a 5 hour gap between the payment made to the scammer and me failing to verify with @GTBenja, which in itself speaks volume.

Additionally, I would like to point out that the rules of this forum state that each user is responsible for their own posts and activities on their account.

However, this does not mean that I am automatically responsible for any scams that may occur as a result of my profile information being outdated or incorrect, this in the contrary means that every users should approach transaction with the uttermost care.

No rules establish any responsibility for outdated contact details, on the contrary the rules clearly entices users to deal via PM.

That's another thing that I want to point out. Why not ask for the ETH/BTC address by PM ??

It is ultimately the responsibility of each individual to verify the identity of those they are conducting transactions with.

In conclusion, while I understand your perspective, I do not believe that I am liable for any losses incurred due to the actions of a scammer who impersonated me. I am, however, willing to assist in any way I can to help resolve this matter and prevent similar incidents from occurring in the future.

You are mistaken on so many things that it's not even worth my time to correct your mistakes, but I will summarize your fallacy.

1) Your profile showing an incorrect or old discord name could make people trust the impersonator without having to contact you, after all, the name being correct and not having any special characters in it, means the verification is optional (although recommended)

2) The scam is not sophisticated, it's a classic impersonation scam that could have been prevented by you adding your correct discord to your profile when you changed it.

3) The scammer took advantage of your mistake, keyword "your". The customer is not responsible for your carelessness when it comes to updating your contact information.

4) Communicating with mods, alerting people, all those things should have come after changing your discord in your profile. Incorrect contact information being displayed after allegedly ''informing people'' about the impersonator sounds like an idiotic attempt to scam people. Either do everything or start with the most important thing which is the publicly available information.

5) if you were not actively communicating with anyone on discord you could have replied ''Not me'' or said ''My discord is "......." but instead you replied in a cryptic way, no context, and your discord was afterwards modified on your profile to cover your ass.

6) You misinterpret the rule that I quoted, you are responsible for what is posted on your account, just like OP is responsible for what is posted on his account. That doesn't mean he is responsible for your fuckups. He can verify by taking your contact information and matching it with the one he's contacting with, or via PM. Your argument is only valid if you updated your discord when you changed it, not now, because this is after the fact and your discord remained unchanged for quite a long time after you changed it which makes it easy for impersonators to simply take over the name and use it to their advantage. You, and everyone else in the forum, are responsible for what we post on our accounts and the contact information we give. If I made a post with a different discord or telegram and people got scammed for it, I could not justify it by saying the proper way to verify is to PM me. My post gave misleading information = I'm responsible.

7) Why not ask for ETH/BTC address by PM? Why not just add your correct contact information to your profile then? It's easier to blame others than to accept your own blame in the situation, I can see that you're deviating the issue from yourself to the OP when he is the one who got scammed for your lack of care.

You, after being a member of this forum for 7 years, should know better.
