How to have gif avatar

Everytime I try putting a .gif as my avatar it get converted into a .png

 

Any solution or special extension in order to have it work? Thanks in advance

sorry misunderstood you . What you are referring to is a gif in the cover page. Your avatar may only be picture or invisible .

Ah okay, thanks of the help. I saw someone else with a gif profile picture so I just assumed it was possible.

Really? Every time I try uploading the file and save the changes it doesn't work. Can you tell me what rules the gif needs to follow if you're still online?

It's quite possible although I'm not entirely certain, you may need to be upgraded, but I could be wrong.
I originally had a small 50x50 gif with 20 frames (200kb) total and was able to use it without issue.
Perhaps try a smaller file

You can only set GIF's on your Profile Cover or Postbit background which require an Upgrade.
