How does friend.tech work?

I've been trying to do some research but I'd love to hear from anyone who's tried it out? Is it legit? Is it a Ponzi? How does it actually work?

For those who haven't seen or heard about it yet, its a web3 social media platform selling keys (shares) for communities or influencers etc. It's basically asking the user to pay for access to a community and as far as I'm aware, the more sought after it is to be in this community (selling more keys) the higher value the existing holders keys will be worth.

It's a neat way of monetising communities and I guess engagement? (a little bit like this moon/bricks experiment from here).

I actually don't know if I've got all of this right so I'd love to hear from people who have dug deeper into it or might be on it already?
