I managed to snatch the name ___ on LoL, and since I'm now happy with the name I got (on a game I don't play), I'll share how I managed to get it

This works by changing your name to another summoners name that has been inactive for x amount of time.

 

The catch is that there's a website where you can search for names and see when they'll be available to change to, but it doesn't end there.
There are other features such as scrolling through a list of names which will soon become available, but it doesn't end there.
There's a name generator on the website which will generate all possible names for e.g, '6ix9ine' by adding special chars, and then checking the generated names and return those names that are available to change to e.g '6ix9inè'.
